Verizon go90 Names Former CBS Exec Chris Castallo as Head of Development

Castallo, who most recently served as the former VP of alternative programing at CBS, has been hired as head of development for go90. Castallo, who left CBS earlier this year, joins the Verizon-owned platform four months after the service was retooled, with its content organized into four “networks” aimed at different demographics — go90 XO, go90 Zone, go90 Saga and go90 Session. In the new role, Castallo will work with content partners to create series that will appeal to the genre, tone and format preferences within each of the networks.

During his time at CBS, Castallo oversaw development and production of series such as “Undercover Boss,” “Survivor,” and “The Amazing Race.” Additionally, he led the digital platform launch ofBig Brother: Over the Top” for CBS All Access, the network’s direct-to-consumer OTT subscription service. Prior to CBS, Castallo was VP and SVP of development at NBC, and served as creative executive, VP and SVP at Tollin/Robbins Productions.

Castallo will report to to Ivana Kirkbride, chief content officer for go90.
