Trust God and Tie Your Camel

There is an Arab saying “Trust in God and tie your camel to a tree.” God has a part to play, and so do I. I have to take two actions — trusting and tying. I can’t be lazy, and hope that God will hold the camel for me.

To develop trust in God, I have to develop my ability to connect to Him. I know that I am part of something bigger. I know that God is everywhere and in everything. That implies God is within me, too. I know that the Universe is kind and loving.

Perhaps I have been the one pushing God away from me. If I stop resisting and open myself to receiving, I might not feel so alone and afraid all of the time. As my ability to connect to my Higher Power improves, my trust also becomes stronger.

I can feel God moving in my life. Wonderful coincidences help to guide me in new and interesting direction. When I’m tuned in, tapped in, and turned on — everything feels easy and effortless.

I also have to be willing to do the indicated work. I get impulses to try new things. I have to be willing to take some actions. If I don’t do new things, I’m going to continue to get the same old disappointing results.

My Higher Power is my navigation system. I have to listen to the directions, I have to drive the car, and take the indicated roads and turns. Otherwise, I’m going to end up lost in the wilderness one more time.
