Thinking how to live is top priority in the age of AI.

Should we let AI design our future?

Since the development of the internet, our lives have changed extremely.

We can meet up with our friends without missing the time or the place by using email on our smartphone.

We think that is very natural for our lives but if you are over forty, you might remember at that time when you were a young teenager before smartphones became popular, you had been cautious about committing to a meeting time or place.

But since getting used to using the devices, we haven’t needed to make a lot of arrangements before we meet our friends.

Smartphones are a part of our lives. It is hard to imagine a life without it. We are unable to think about how to live without it. We live in the AI age, and day by day we feel that is tough to design how to live by our own efforts, instead feel seemingly that Al design our live.

In fact, as increasing the speed of the development of the AI, we all confront the questions of how to change fast our work style. Adapting our business to the speed of AI is top priority.

However human beings are not computers, we can not unite our brain with the devices, there is a limit to fit the way of life to adapt to the development of technology.

Some people feel difficulty in following the speed of changing the world, and some who have old type sensibility already escape from the technology.

And I, maybe, am the latter one.

I feel it tough to follow the world changing by artificial technology, moreover, as a trainer of mindfulness, I think it’s not a good idea to pursue AI’s projecting world.

Since a few years ago, I have read many essays describing natural lives on Medium and other platforms in Japan.

And the authors of the essay definitely seek and ask themselves how to be natural.

pha, a Japanese author, essayist, blogger, is one of them who avoids overworking. He was an influencer during the blog boom era in Japan, insisting that run away from conformity in company life. And his claim poignant many audiences’ hearts.

At that time, writing blogs was very fashionable and required programming skills, so all of them who were keen on the activities were familiar with cutting edge technology. And pha is the one.

However, observing his recent activity, he definitely lost interest in current technology but continued writing his diary on the internet as he has maintained for almost 20 years.

Persuading the technology is out of his mind.

I also have been blogging for three years imitating pha’s style.

Nowadays, writing blogs is not fashionable compared with the past ten years.

Instead NFT and Metabirth are running ahead of current technology.

Perhaps, launching chatGPT was shocking for many writers, since it can seemingly write correct and accurate sentences more than the beginners of this business.

It’s far from the sophisticated writing of the professionals. But it’s unpredictable how the App will be improved, so many writers, painters, and translators confront the anxiety about losing their jobs.

How to work is a question making parts of our lives. Until the end of the 20th century, people could build up their way of living by focusing on their own business.

But now in the AI era, it’s not enough getting into your tasks but you need to acquire multiple abilities besides your job.

We can’t design our lives denying the high speed of AI’s development but definitely AI is beginning to design our living.

I think at some point we will be able to give a philosophical answer to the questions between artificial intelligence and human existence. And always in a healthy society, philosophy comes first before political actions.

In the near future, we will create a non-AI community in the AI society. It’s funny, it sounds like a non-internet society on the internet.

But the question whether we should let AI design our future or not is regarding human existence.

And the only thing we can do is make comfortable spaces on the internet.

And many authors seek how to live quality life not quantity and introduce their ordinary lives, depict the scenery of countrysides, and show what to eat, where to live, how to work.

I think that is a “non-internet society on the internet”.

And especially observing nature will be a key to understanding our humanness.
