Courageous Farewell

It takes courage to say goodbye. Telling someone you love that you deserve better than what you are receiving takes major balls.

Self respect is something that not everyone has, and confidence in oneself is difficult but for a chosen few.

When you’ve been treated as if you don’t matter, it is a grueling task to learn that you do. It’s labor-some to love yourself. To accept your flaws and to demand someone accept them too.

When you look in the mirror the voices of others seem to rise above your own. As if you need the help feeling like you don’t belong.

If you can face your reflection with your held high, if you can trust that you are enough, you can give every negative force in your life courageous goodbye.

You can bid farewell to those that don’t respect you. To those that don’t love you. To those that don’t encourage you.

And when you can to do that to those that you respect, love, and encourage… well that my friends is a very courageous goodbye.
